Cancelled Flights In August
Getting stuck in an airport thanks to a delayed flight is one of the worst nightmares when you are preparing for a well earned break abroad. You’ve had the stress of packing and buying a plethora of new items you probably won’t even use and you’ve navigated your way through a hot and sticky selection of Britain’s finest, crowded motorways. You really didnt want to hear that your flight had been cancelled.
What can you do? You’ll be pleased to know, there is a way to beat the stress, using nothing more than your phone. One of the things we are particularly blessed with at airports are hotels and frankly, if you have to wait another day for your flight, what better way than to check yourself in to a nice hotel for the evening to take away the stress. You will have one more hurdle to jump though, which hotel? Fortunately, we have plenty of price comparison sites that can take the hard work out of finding one and its at the click of a button on your phone.
Some airports are better than others for hotels, take Gatwick Airport Hotels for instance, the choice on offer is staggering. Best of all, don’t forget to check your travel insurance for cover on cancelled or delayed flights, you might just find the cost of a hotel for the evening is covered.
Even without insurance, you may be entitled to some form of re-imbursement by the airline, depending on the reason for the cancelled/delayed flight, but be careful as many cut price airlines do not provide this service and although in many instances you are entitled to compensation, you would need to go through the courts to do so.
There are certain, reasonable events that don’t count for compensation, such as acts of god so make sure you check with the airline first before booking an expensive hotel, only to find you have to pay for it!
